Boiler thermostat 20-70°C with rod for hot water
The boiler thermostat with rod is a universal spare part for controlling water temperature in electric water heaters. It is inserted directly into the heating element's sheath and automatically interrupts the circuit when the water reaches the set temperature. Compatible with most electric water heaters sold on the Romanian market.
What you get with this product
- Precise water temperature control between 20°C and 70°C via an accessible adjustment potentiometer
- Automatic overheat protection at 83°C — the boiler shuts off before problems arise
- Universal compatibility with standard electric boilers — direct replacement without modifications
- Electricity bill savings — water is heated only to the desired temperature, without excessive consumption
- Simple connection via 6.3 mm male spade terminals — no special tools or authorized electrician required
- Operates at voltages between 100V and 250V AC — compatible with the standard electrical grid in Romania
How it works and how to install
The brass rod of the thermostat is inserted into the heating element's sheath of the boiler, where it directly measures the water temperature. When the water reaches the temperature set by the potentiometer, the electrical contact opens and the heating element stops. Replacing a faulty thermostat involves partially draining the boiler, disconnecting existing electrical connections, and connecting the new thermostat using the included terminals — an operation that can be performed by anyone with basic electrical knowledge.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this thermostat compatible with my electric boiler?
The TAS-type rod thermostat is compatible with most electric domestic hot water boilers on the market. Check that the heating element sheath size allows the rod to be inserted and that the connector type (6.3 mm spade terminals) matches.
What temperature should I set the thermostat for normal consumption?
For ordinary household use, a setting between 55°C and 65°C is recommended — sufficient for domestic hot water and energy efficient.
What does the 83°C safety temperature mean and when does it activate?
If the main thermostat fails to stop heating, the 83°C safety thermal protection interrupts the circuit to prevent damage to the boiler or installation.
