260°C Bimetal Thermostat for Thermal Protection in Electrical Appliances
This bimetal thermostat functions as a temperature sensor and automatic protection for electrical appliances that generate heat. It automatically interrupts the circuit when the 260°C threshold is exceeded, protecting the equipment and preventing overheating. Compatible with coffee makers, irons, water heaters, radiators, and other similar devices.
What you get with this product
- Automatic overheating protection — interrupts the electrical circuit at 260°C, preventing appliance damage
- Universal compatibility with most electrical heating appliances — coffee makers, irons, water heaters, radiators
- Simple mechanical installation — four mounting holes allow for quick screw-on installation
- High current resistance — supports 10A at 250V for intensive use without overloading
- Durable metal construction with ceramic cover — resists extreme temperatures and repeated heating-cooling cycles
- Automatic reset after cooling — returns to the initial position when the temperature drops below the critical threshold
How it works and how to install it
The thermostat uses a bimetallic strip that deforms when heated. When the temperature reaches 260°C, the strip breaks the electrical contact, cutting off power. After cooling, the strip returns to its original shape and restores the circuit. Installation is done by screwing it in using the four holes on the metal bracket, then connecting the two electrical terminals in series with the appliance to be protected. No special tools or advanced electrical knowledge are required.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can it be reset manually or only automatically?
Resetting is automatic — once the temperature drops below the activation threshold, the thermostat automatically returns to the closed position and restores the electrical circuit.
What appliances can I use this thermostat with?
It is compatible with coffee makers, irons, water heaters, electric radiators, hot beverage dispensers, and any device requiring overheating protection below 260°C.
What cable gauge should I use for connection?
For a maximum current of 10A, a cable with a minimum cross-section of 1.5mm² is recommended. Ensure that the terminals are tightly secured to prevent sparks or local overheating.
