Bimetallic Thermostat for Thermal Protection at 240°C
Temperature sensor with automatic disconnection at 240°C, designed to protect electrical equipment against overheating. Compatible with coffee makers, water heaters, irons, and other high-temperature appliances. Quick mounting by fixing onto a metal bracket.
What you get with this product
- Automatic overheating protection — disconnects the circuit at 240°C, preventing appliance burnout
- Universal compatibility — mounts on coffee makers, heaters, irons, radiators, and other 220V equipment
- Long service life — bimetallic mechanism resistant to repeated heating-cooling cycles
- Simple installation — metal bracket with mounting holes, direct connection to appliance terminals
- Enhanced safety — cuts power before the temperature becomes dangerous
- Compact dimensions — easily integrates into confined spaces of existing equipment
How it works and how to install
The bimetallic thermostat contains a metal strip that expands when heated. When the temperature reaches 240°C, the strip deforms and automatically breaks the electrical circuit. After cooling, the contact is re-established. Installation is done by fixing the metal bracket to the surface to be monitored and connecting the two terminals in series with the appliance's power circuit. No specialized tools are required — only a screwdriver for fastening and connection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it reset automatically after the appliance cools down?
Yes, it is an automatic reset thermostat — the contact is re-established once the temperature drops below the trip threshold.
Can it be used with 12V or only with 220V?
It is designed for 220V and a maximum of 10A, but it can technically operate at lower voltages if your appliance supports this configuration.
How precise is the trip temperature?
The thermostat trips at approximately 240°C with a tolerance of a few degrees, specific to bimetallic technology.
