230°C Bimetal Thermostat for Reliable Thermal Protection
This bimetal thermostat with a temperature sensor provides automatic overheat protection for domestic and industrial electrical equipment. Designed for temperatures up to 230°C and a current of 10A at 250V, the component is quick to install and operates without intervention. Ideal for coffee makers, irons, boilers, electric radiators, and other appliances with heating elements.
What you get with this product
- Automatic overheat protection — interrupts the electrical circuit when the temperature exceeds 230°C, preventing damage to appliances
- Compatible with most heating appliances — coffee makers, irons, boilers, radiators, dispensers, and similar equipment
- Simple screw-mount installation — connects directly to the electrical circuit, without complex modifications
- Long-term reliability — durable bimetallic construction, tested for repeated connect-disconnect cycles
- Automatic reset — returns to normal operation after cooling, without manual intervention
- Compact dimensions — integrates easily into confined spaces, suitable for various repair or upgrade applications
How it works and how to install it
The bimetal thermostat uses a metal strip that deforms as the temperature rises, automatically opening the electrical contact at 230°C. Installation involves fixing the metal casing to the surface to be monitored with the provided screws and connecting the two electrical poles in series with the power circuit. No calibration is required — the trip temperature is preset at the factory. After cooling, the contact closes automatically and the appliance returns to normal operation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it reset automatically or do I need to press something?
The reset is automatic. After the temperature drops below the critical threshold, the contact closes by itself and the circuit returns to normal, without pressing any button.
Can I use the thermostat for 220V and 230V appliances?
Yes, it is compatible with standard European mains voltages between 220-250V. The maximum current supported is 10A, so check your appliance's power.
How accurate is the trip temperature?
The nominal trip temperature is 230°C, with a tolerance of a few degrees specific to bimetallic sensors. For typical household applications, the accuracy is sufficient for effective protection.
