Bimetal thermostat with automatic 180°C cut-off
This bimetal thermostat provides automatic thermal protection for electric heating appliances. It functions as a temperature sensor with a 180°C cut-off and automatic reset, suitable for coffee makers, irons, water heaters, or electric radiators. Durable and precise, it protects you from overheating without manual intervention.
What you get with this product
- Automatic overheating protection — disconnects the electrical circuit at 180°C and reconnects after cooling
- Simple installation with metal flange mounting — two fixing holes allow quick attachment to the appliance surface
- Universal compatibility — works with any electric heating appliance up to 250V and 10A
- Long-term reliability — classic bimetal mechanism, tested in millions of thermal cycles
- Increased safety for daily use — prevents damage to appliances and reduces fire risk
- Completely autonomous — does not require batteries, external power source, or control electronics
How it works and how to install it
The bimetal thermostat contains a metal blade that expands as the temperature rises. Upon reaching the 180°C threshold, the blade automatically breaks the electrical contact, cutting off power to the appliance. After the temperature drops below the limit, the contact is restored, and the appliance resumes operation. Installation is done by screwing the metal flange onto the appliance casing and connecting the two terminals in series with the electrical power circuit. No calibration or additional adjustments are required.
Frequently asked questions
Can it be manually reset after it trips?
No, it's not necessary. The thermostat resets automatically once the temperature drops approximately 10-15°C below the 180°C threshold.
Does it also work at voltages lower than 250V?
Yes, the thermostat is compatible with any operating voltage up to 250V AC, including 12V, 24V, or 220V.
How precise is the cut-off threshold?
The precision is approximately +/-5°C from the nominal temperature of 180°C, sufficient for most domestic and industrial applications.
