250V Thermal Cutoff Fuse for Electrical Appliances
An essential component for protecting electrical devices against overheating, this thermal fuse automatically interrupts the circuit at 98°C. Used in irons, electric heaters, coffee makers, toasters, and other household appliances, it ensures safe operation and extends equipment lifespan.
What you get with this product
- Automatic overheating protection — interrupts the circuit at the critical temperature of 98°C, preventing appliance damage
- Universal compatibility — suitable for irons, radiators, coffee makers, toasters, electric kettles, and other 250V appliances
- Robust metal tube construction — resistant to high temperatures and intense operating conditions
- Standard dimensions — 4.18mm diameter and 65mm total length, easily installed in place of a faulty fuse
- High current capacity — supports up to 10A, sufficient for most household appliances
- Quick and economical replacement — repair your existing appliance instead of buying a new one
How it works and how to install it
The thermal fuse works on the principle of interrupting the electrical circuit when the temperature reaches 98°C. It is constructed from heat-sensitive materials, encapsulated in a protective metal tube. When the temperature threshold is exceeded, the internal element deforms or melts, breaking the electrical connection and cutting power to the appliance.
Installation requires disconnecting the appliance from the mains, identifying the faulty thermal fuse, undoing the old electrical connections, and connecting the new fuse, observing polarity. The operation is performed by soldering or using connectors, depending on the appliance type. We recommend checking by a person with basic electronics knowledge or an authorized technician.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if the thermal fuse in my appliance is blown?
The appliance no longer heats up at all even though it is connected to the mains and other components are working. Testing with a multimeter in continuity mode confirms the circuit interruption.
Can it be used with any 250V appliance?
Yes, provided the appliance draws a maximum of 10A and requires thermal protection at 98°C. Check the operating temperature specified on the original fuse.
Is the fuse resettable or single-use?
This is a fusible thermal fuse, so it burns out permanently upon reaching the critical temperature and must be replaced.
