How it works and how to install it
The 28mm COB LED chip has four power contacts (2 positive and 2 negative), allowing independent control of the two color temperatures by separately powering each pair. Mounting is done on a metal surface or heat sink, always with thermal paste applied between the chip and the support, to prevent overheating. Connection is made to a stabilized DC source of 8.7-9V and 280-300mA, without the need for special equipment — basic electronics knowledge is sufficient.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this chip directly at 12V?
No. The nominal supply voltage is 8.7-9V DC. Powering at 12V without an adequate driver will irreversibly damage the chip.
Do I need a separate heat sink, or is the included support sufficient?
The integrated aluminum support provides basic cooling, but for continuous use at maximum power, an additional heat sink and thermal paste are recommended to keep the temperature within safe limits.
How do I get neutral light with this 2-in-1 chip?
By simultaneously powering both pairs of contacts (cool white and warm white), the two light sources combine, and the perceived result is light with a neutral temperature, between the two extreme values.
