Solar MCCB 2P 125A DC 500V circuit breaker - reliable protection
The 2P solar MCCB circuit breaker is specifically designed for photovoltaic systems operating on direct current at voltages up to 500V DC. It effectively protects solar panels, lithium batteries, and other DC equipment against overcurrents and short circuits. Its compact design in a heat-resistant casing makes it suitable for both residential and commercial installations.
What you get with this product
- Secure protection for the entire photovoltaic circuit — automatically cuts off current in case of overload or short circuit, preventing damage to inverters and batteries
- Compatible with DC systems up to 500V — works directly with solar panel strings without additional adaptation equipment
- Rapid tripping at 10In — immediate reaction in case of overcurrent, reducing the risk of fire or damage in the electrical panel
- Resistance to extreme temperatures, from -25 degrees C to +70 degrees C — functions correctly even in intense summer or harsh winter conditions
- Visible test button and status indicator — quickly check the circuit breaker's status without additional tools
- DIN rail or panel mounting — easily integrates into existing electrical panels without major modifications
How it works and how to install it
The MCCB circuit breaker works by automatically disconnecting the DC circuit when the current exceeds the rated value or a short circuit occurs, using a thermoelectric tripping mechanism. Installation is done directly in the electrical panel on a DIN rail or by screw mounting, connecting the line wires to the upper terminals (LINE 1 and 3) and the load to the lower terminals (LOAD 2 and 4). The work must be performed by an authorized electrician, with the circuit completely disconnected from the power source.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this circuit breaker also work for alternating current (AC)?
No, it is designed exclusively for direct current (DC) up to 500V. For AC circuits, a circuit breaker with corresponding AC specifications is required.
Can I use it with an off-grid solar system with 48V lithium batteries?
Yes, the circuit breaker is compatible with any DC voltage up to 500V, including systems with 12V, 24V, or 48V batteries, provided the current does not exceed 125A.
Can it be installed outdoors, in sealed enclosures?
The circuit breaker itself does not have its own IP rating for weather protection, so it is recommended to install it in an appropriate sealed enclosure (minimum IP65) when exposed to the outdoor environment.
